Job Title: Strategic Coal Logistics Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Coal Logistics Manager to drive the procurement of coal logistics services and other ancillary services with high reliability & efficiency, achieving optimum cost optimization.

About this role
  • This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic procurement of coal logistics services and other ancillary services.
  • You will be expected to develop and implement effective strategies to ensure timely availability of coal by streamlining coal logistics procurement activities in line with planned generation.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills to identify mitigation measures against strategic, operational, and other risks, including business continuity processes.
  • You will also be responsible for formulating long-term strategies for fuel management, vendor performance analysis, and innovation for improving systems & processes reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement effective strategies to procure coal logistics services and other ancillary services with high reliability & efficiency.
  • Timely Coal Availability: Streamline coal logistics procurement activities to ensure timely availability of coal in line with planned generation.
  • ESG and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate strategic, operational, and other risks, including business continuity processes.
  • Risk Mitigation: Formulate measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with Group level SOPs, guidelines, and governance compliances.
  • Market Study and Analysis: Conduct continuous market study and analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, better risk mitigation, etc.
  • New Service Providers: Identify, onboard, and develop new service providers for coal logistics and ancillary services.
  • Long-term Strategy: Formulate and deploy long-term strategies for fuel management, vendor performance analysis, and innovation.
  • Fuel Management: Monitor domestic coal sourcing program, coal landed cost at various thermal power plants through different modes of transport, etc. to ensure compliance.
  • Vendor Performance: Analyze vendor performance and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Support fuel management team in preparation of coal sourcing plan on need basis, innovate for improving systems & processes reliability.
  • Policies and Procedures: Comply with Group level SOPs, guidelines, and governance compliances, policies & procedures improvement & implementation.
