Legal Professional Role

The legal department plays a crucial role in ensuring that agreements comply with applicable regulations and the company's requirements. They provide advisory support to stakeholders, conduct research into laws and regulations, negotiate terms, and draft documents as needed.

Key Responsibilities:Contract Management:
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements, including third-party agreements.
  • Provide timely support for legal inquiries in connection with contracts.
Legal Strategy and Advisory:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement legal strategy.
  • Provide legal advice to senior management on various matters.
  • Review and drive policies in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage intellectual property and real estate support.
Entity Management and Structure:
  • Advise on forming and structuring new entities, selecting entity types, and jurisdictions.
Risk Identification and Management:
  • Identify and consult on legal risks in connection with external partnerships and regulatory requirements.
Leadership and Managerial:
  • Drive improvements in productivity using defined KPIs.
  • Devise strategies for hiring and training the Legal team.
Prerequisites:
  • Understanding of diverse laws applicable to financial services firms.
  • Good at anticipating and identifying legal issues.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills.
  • Highly collaborative with team orientation.
Experience and Education:
  • 5+ years of experience in an in-house legal team.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Law.
