Senior Backend Developer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned backend developer to spearhead the development of our maritime operations platform. As a key team member, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and efficient back-end systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design software architecture that promotes scalability, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Owning the product lifecycle from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implementing Test-Driven Development practices to ensure high-quality code.
  • Building reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency.
  • Optimizing applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Enforcing security best practices and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in web applications and APIs using frameworks like Django / Flask.
  • Considerable expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and experience working with Git.
  • Hands on experience in DB design & Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers.
  • Containerization tool experience - Docker.
  • Enterprise level deployment and scaling experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement optimal solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
