Cloud Operations Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cloud operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure services.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for administering and supporting GCP infrastructure services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, Networking, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and GKE. You will also be responsible for monitoring system health, performance, and availability using GCP monitoring tools such as Stackdriver and Cloud Logging.

You will manage user access and security policies via IAM and service accounts, perform incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for GCP services, deploy, configure, and manage networking within GCP, automate operational tasks using Terraform/Deployment Manager/scripts, support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions on GCP, collaborate with development and DevOps teams for application deployment and integration, and ensure compliance with security and governance policies.

You will also create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for GCP operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) administration and support.
  • Hands-on with GCP services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, Networking, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, GKE, Pub/Sub.
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.
  • Understanding of networking (DNS, VPN, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPC peering).
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Stackdriver / Cloud Monitoring).
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security best practices, IAM, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
