About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and finding funding opportunities, brainstorming with the team to formulate well-thought-through concepts, and writing polished proposals to secure grant money for program activities.

This role requires a unique blend of research skills, creativity, and effective communication. The ideal candidate will be able to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner, demonstrating a deep understanding of the organization's vision and goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Studying the organization's vision, objectives, outcomes, growth, and financial needs.
  • Researching grant opportunities from various sources, including institutional grants, corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding, government bodies, and individual donors.
  • Drafting grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.
  • Submitting proposals to the organization and fundraising team for approval.
  • Responding to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
  • Maintaining records and submitting reports related to grant opportunities.
  • Providing input on effective communication of the organization's work, grants received, outcomes achieved, etc., on social media to reinforce its reputation.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2-3 years prior experience as a proposal writer with a grant-seeking organization and history of submitting successful proposals.
  • Knowledge or deep interest in natural world conservation and sustainability.
  • Ability to grasp and convey nuances of the organization's work.
  • Prior knowledge of fundraising sources for biodiversity and conservation communication is desirable.
  • Analytical thinker who can put together structured proposals that convey programs and their outcomes in clear and engaging manner.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time-zones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Self-driven and motivated.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Proficiency in MS Word, PPT, and Excel is required.
