Procurement Expert

Procurement Officer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to manage our procurement activities. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of procurement experience in an industrial or manufacturing setup, along with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering drawings, machining processes, and tooling requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Negotiation: Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders for various components and services. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to achieve the best value while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Technical Evaluation & Vendor Management: Review and interpret mechanical engineering drawings to identify procurement requirements and ensure technical accuracy when sourcing parts. Evaluate vendor capabilities with respect to machine processes, grinding, and milling operations.
  • Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure that procured items meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, and responsiveness.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of machine processes, including grinding, milling, turning, and fabrication techniques.
  • Negotiation & Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Procurement Experience: 5–8 years of proven experience in procurement within manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industries.
  • Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in sourcing precision components involving machining, grinding, and milling processes.
