Direct Tax Strategist Opportunity

At our organization, we have a unique opportunity for a Direct Tax Strategist to lead our tax strategy and compliance efforts. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in mitigating tax risks, handling audits, and driving strategic decisions that optimize our company's tax position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement direct tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Research, interpret, and apply relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance, minimizing potential risks and liabilities.
  • Prepare and review direct tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission, maintaining optimal relationships with tax authorities.
  • Manage tax audits and coordinate responses and documentation for tax authorities, providing expert guidance on audit procedures.
  • Advise internal teams on tax implications of business decisions and transactions, offering insightful advice on tax optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor changes in direct tax laws and assess their business impact, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategic changes as needed.
  • Identify tax saving opportunities while minimizing tax liabilities and risks, leveraging expertise to drive business growth.
  • Provide guidance and training to finance and business teams on direct tax matters, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Ensure robust documentation and compliance with reporting requirements, maintaining high standards of excellence in all aspects of direct tax management.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a strong track record of success in direct tax management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian direct tax laws and regulatory frameworks, with a deep understanding of tax planning and compliance principles.
  • Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and handling tax audits, showcasing expertise in managing complex tax issues.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to interpret complex tax legislation, applying technical expertise to drive business results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proven ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in mentoring or guiding junior finance professionals, promoting knowledge sharing and career development.
  • Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation, always seeking innovative solutions to drive business success.
