We are seeking a seasoned Privacy and Data Protection expert to support our global operations.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws, with a strong emphasis on U.S. state and federal student data privacy laws and best practices.

  • Provide strategic legal guidance on complex data protection and privacy matters;
  • Support the development and implementation of our global data protection and privacy program;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and advice on data protection legal and compliance obligations;
  • Raise awareness and create effective training and guidance to promote best practices and drive a data protection and privacy-oriented culture;

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with data governance and compliance efforts;
  • Providing subject matter expertise on AI governance and compliance;
  • Advising on appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data;
  • Supporting customer conversations related to data protection and AI;
  • Performing other compliance-related duties as needed.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • LLB or Juris Doctor from an accredited law school;
  • Enrollment with a State Bar Council under the Bar Council of India and/or passing the All-India Bar Examination, and/or member of the bar in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws;
  • Expertise in advising on complex data protection and privacy matters;
  • Strong analytical and research skills;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and establish effective solutions efficiently;
  • Maintains confidentiality to the utmost degree;
  • Takes independent action and calculated risks while asking for help as needed.
