Professional HVAC Design Engineer

This is a senior-level position that requires extensive experience in designing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and industrial projects.

As an expert in HVAC design, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive designs that meet the specific needs of each project, taking into account factors such as energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed designs for HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems.
  • Perform heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis using specialized software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20.
  • Choose and size HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on project requirements.
  • Design ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Optimize HVAC systems for energy efficiency and sustainability, minimizing environmental impact and costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including MEP engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals and implementation.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design and engineering, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software, including HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Carrier E-20.
  • Excellent knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant codes.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills, with excellent communication and project management abilities.
