Backend Migration Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the migration of our core functionality from a legacy .NET monolith to a modern, event-driven architecture using Java Spring Boot microservices.

This critical role will focus on migrating and refactoring existing code that handles crucial integrations with our platform and re-implementing it as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native Java services. The selected candidate will also play a vital role in modernizing our event-handling stack, moving away from a central .NET message broker to a distributed system built on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Develop: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable Java Spring Boot microservices.
  • Legacy Code Analysis and Migration: Analyze existing .NET code that integrates with our loan servicing platform, understand its business logic, and lead its migration to the new Java stack.
  • Event-Driven Architecture Implementation: Decommission our legacy .NET message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions Development: Build and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
  • Code Quality and Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Own the entire development lifecycle, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through a robust CI/CD pipeline.
  • System Analysis: Go beyond the user story to develop a deep understanding of the entire system, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • AI-Powered Migration: Utilize AI-based tools and methodologies to assist in the analysis, translation, and refactoring of legacy .NET code, improving the efficiency and accuracy of the migration.

Requirements:
