IP Strategist

Job Summary:

As a Patent Engineer, you'll bridge the gap between our AI R&D teams and IP legal counsel. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze inventions, draft high-quality patent applications, and assist in building a robust intellectual property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering and research teams to identify patentable innovations.
• Perform prior art searches and patent landscape analysis to assess novelty and patentability.
• Draft patent applications with technical accuracy and clarity.
• Liaise with external patent attorneys and IP counsel to prosecute patent applications globally.
• Track and manage patent filings and deadlines.
• Analyze competitor patents and provide strategic input on IP positioning.
• Support freedom-to-operate and infringement analyses.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; PhD is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, or IP strategy (preferably in AI or software tech).
• Solid understanding of AI/ML technologies, data science, and software development.
• Experience conducting prior art searches and using patent databases/tools.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
• Exposure to LLMs, NLP, computer vision, or edge AI is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Registered Patent Agent (India/US/EP) or working toward it.
• Experience with open-source licensing and software IP issues.
• Familiarity with global patent systems.
