The Role of a Triage Engineer

Comcast is looking for a skilled developer to join their RDK triage team. The ideal candidate will have 9 to 14 years of experience in developing innovative solutions with multiple technologies.

The Comcast RDK triage team is responsible for identifying and resolving customer impacting problems associated with deployed software on CPE devices. The successful candidate will work closely with the development team to design automation, detect and triage problems with maximum quality and accuracy, and analyze data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rapid identification and root cause analysis of field issues
  • Triage customer issues and identify the source of the issue quickly
  • Fixing field issues and communicating back to the field
  • Isolating faults and solving problems quickly
  • Analyzing Business Intelligence / Metrics to get an early indication of customer issues
  • Working in a fast-paced environment and leveraging excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external teams
  • Using Agile Methodologies in work efforts
  • Staying updated with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices in development, data collection, cloud platforms, monitoring systems, and DevOps methodologies
  • Leading the defined activities and delivering outcomes on a defined schedule
  • Leading the team in solving technical challenges

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge in Networking, WiFi, and/or Video technologies
  • Able to understand software architecture
  • Excellent knowledge in Linux, C & C++
  • Knowledge on data analysis tools like Elastic, Splunk, Datadog etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control systems, and agile practices
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
