Job Description

A JIRA Administrator is responsible for managing and configuring JIRA environments to support project tracking, issue management, and agile workflows. Based on internal documentation and project files, the key responsibilities include:

System Configuration Maintenance

  • Setting up and maintaining JIRA projects, workflows, permissions, and custom fields.
  • Administering JIRA user accounts and groups.
  • Ensuring integration with tools like PowerBI, Python, and Jenkins for reporting and automation.

Workflow Issue Management

  • Creating and managing issue types, screens, and field configurations.
  • Implementing and maintaining custom workflows tailored to project needs.
  • Tracking and managing review cycles using JIRA for various stages such as Supervisor Review, SME Review, DRA Review, and Author Rework.

Automation Scripting

  • Configuring automation rules for notifications, transitions, and field updates.
  • Using scripting tools and plugins to enhance JIRA functionality.
  • Example: Jenkins integration for JIRA logging and automated test result uploads.

Reporting Dashboards

  • Developing dashboards and reports for stakeholders using JIRA and integrated tools.
  • Exporting and analyzing EPIC-level data for planning and implementation tracking.

User Support Training

  • Providing support to users on JIRA usage and best practices.
  • Conducting training sessions and creating help documentation.
