Job Description:Sr Specialist Database Administration - SnowflakeThis position is for Database administration of Snowflake databases and Apache Iceberg for Network service assurance applications.Major responsibilities include- Snowflake Administration:Database maintenance and optimizationSnowflake resource tuningSnowflake custom script developmentSnowflake optimizationDatabase cost managementDatabase securityCross Snowflake object sharingApplication interface supportQuery tuningUser query tuningDeveloper supportDeployment activitiesUser role creation/management (security)Database object deploymentSupport covers 4 Snowflake subscriptions (2 Prod, 2 Non-Prod), soon to add 2 more subscription with total being 6 accountsApache IcebergOperational MaintenanceOperational ScriptingOperational MonitoringSnowflake integration/supportRequired Skills:Strong understanding of SQL and database administration best practices.Strong expertise in the Snowflake platform, including its architecture, features, and best practices for data warehousing.Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, including its internal structure, specifications, and management capabilities.Knowledge of InfluxDB administration is a plusExpertise on resource tuning, cost optimization.Working experience Snowflake custom script development.Knowledge of public cloud and cloud storage solutions (Azure Blob Storage).Proficiency in security and governance best practices for data platforms.Overall Experience: 8+ years in relevant technologies.Co-working with geographically distributed teams.
