Shutdown Project for 3 months
Position: Valve Supervisor
Location: Qatar
Qualification: Diploma / ITI (Industrial Training Institute)
Industry Familiarity: Power Plant, Desalination Plant
Key Skills Required:
Valve Engineering Knowledge:
- Understanding of various types of valves (e.g., control valves, gate valves, globe valves, check valves, and ball valves).
- Familiarity with valve standards, codes, and specifications.
- Expertise in valve sizing, selection, and installation.
- Proficiency in valve maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Technical Expertise in Power and Desalination Plants:
- Understanding of critical equipment used in power and desalination plants.
- Familiarity with high-pressure and high-temperature applications in both sectors.
- Knowledge of control systems and instrumentation in power generation and water treatment processes.
Supervisory Skills:
- Ability to lead and supervise the team in valve servicing, inspection, and installation activities.
- Competence in managing resources, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining project timelines.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:
- Ability to identify and resolve valve-related issues promptly.
- Expertise in fault diagnosis and recommending corrective measures.
Knowledge of Industry Standards:
- Familiarity with international standards (such as ASME, API, ASTM, etc.) for valve design, testing, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and safety standards in both power and desalination plants.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Execution:
- Oversee and manage valve servicing, inspection, and installation as per the project scope and engineering standards.
- Ensure that all valve work is completed according to specifications and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
- Supervise valve installation, replacement, and retrofitting activities in power and desalination plants.
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct thorough inspections of valves to assess their condition, performance, and compliance with operational requirements.
- Perform testing of valves (e.g., pressure tests, leak tests) to ensure functionality and integrity.
- Record test results and make recommendations for repairs or replacements as necessary.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Support the engineering team by preparing comprehensive documentation of all valve-related work.
- Generate inspection reports, service records, and detailed maintenance logs.
- Track and report on progress, highlighting any issues that could affect timelines or safety.
Maintenance and Trouble Resolution:
- Diagnose any operational issues with valves and develop solutions to address them.
- Recommend appropriate materials, tools, or techniques for valve maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee the maintenance of spare parts and tools required for valve servicing.
