Shutdown Project for 3 months
Position- QC Engineer Valve
Location- Qatar
Industry Familiarity: Power Plant, Desalination Plant
Key Skills Required:
Quality Control Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of quality control processes, inspections, and testing methods for valves.
- Understanding of international standards for valves (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, ISO) applicable in power and desalination plants.
- Ability to evaluate valve performance and adherence to design specifications and standards.
Valve Testing & Inspection:
- Proficiency in conducting mechanical and functional testing of valves (e.g., pressure tests, leak tests, flow tests).
- Skilled in visual inspection of valve components, ensuring they are free from defects and meet the required specifications.
- Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant testing, and radiographic testing.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing detailed inspection reports, quality documentation, and certificates of conformity.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for report generation and data management.
Knowledge of Valve Engineering:
- Familiarity with different types of valves used in power and desalination plants, such as control valves, gate valves, globe valves, and safety valves.
- Ability to interpret valve drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate quality assessments.
- Understanding of materials used in valve manufacturing (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys) and their properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Inspections:
- Perform regular inspections of valves used in power and desalination plants during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Verify that all valves meet the required quality standards and specifications before they are installed or put into service.
- Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and material verifications to ensure conformity with technical standards.
Testing and Validation:
- Oversee and conduct various valve testing activities, such as pressure tests, leak tests, functional tests, and non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Ensure that all valve testing is performed as per the relevant standards and project requirements.
- Ensure test results are recorded accurately and any deviations are investigated and addressed.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, test records, and other quality documentation.
- Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) for any deviations from specifications and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Review technical documentation and ensure proper compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Training & Knowledge Sharing:
- Provide training to junior quality control staff, technicians, and contractors on best practices for valve inspections and quality checks.
- Share expertise on quality assurance techniques and valve-related standards with the team to ensure high levels of competency.
