About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fractional Accounting Controller / Fractional CFO to support Canadian businesses remotely, during Canadian business hours. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise, capable of managing diverse client portfolios and delivering high-quality, timely accounting and financial management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee client accounting operations, management reporting, and financial controllership on a fractional/part-time basis.
• Work across multiple client portfolios, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in financial processes.
• Prepare, review, and enhance management reports, dashboards, and KPIs tailored to client needs.
• Collaborate with external audit and accounting firms, managing multiple files simultaneously.
• Provide financial insights to guide business decision-making and growth strategies.
• Ensure accurate and expeditious handling of client accounting needs at both the grassroot operational level and strategic management level.
• Continuously assess, adapt, and improve client service delivery through innovative use of accounting and IT tools.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (India) qualification required. Semi-Qualified with exceptional knowledge and skills may also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, IFRS, and Canadian tax laws.
• Familiarity with Canadian tax software- Tax Cycle/ Profile/Tax Prep and cross-border accounting practices.
• Demonstrated ability to handle diverse client portfolios as Consulting/Fractional Controller/CFO with hands-on analyzing & problem solving skills.

Technical Skills

• Accounting Software Expertise: QuickBooks Desktop & Online, Xero, Sage (SAFE), and other industry tools.
• IT & Reporting Tools: Advanced Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization/management reporting tools.
• Strong capability in preparing and analyzing financial statements, financial modelling, MIS, performance reporting, and compliance.
• Comfortable working with multiple IT platforms and adapting quickly to client environments.
