We are expanding our QA team at Avataar and are excited to bring on board a passionate SDET to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. The SDET will play a pivotal role in our QA strategy, focusing on automating testing processes, identifying defects early, and continuously improving our QA methodologies. Responsibilities

Test Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to review and understand requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases that ensure robust coverage and efficiency.
Prioritise and plan testing activities in alignment with project timelines and release schedules.

Automation:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript, focusing on end-to-end testing.
Innovate testing approaches using the latest tools and best practices, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in test automation.

Defect Management and Quality Assurance:
Identify, document, and track defects thoroughly, ensuring timely resolution.
Perform thorough regression testing to ensure no impact on existing functionality.
Provide meaningful feedback to developers and work closely with them to resolve issues during the development phase.
Collaboration and Communication:
Partner with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and customer-facing teams, to ensure alignment on quality goals.
Triage and reproduce defects reported from the field, ensuring customer satisfaction and reliability.
Communicate test results, metrics, and insights clearly to all stakeholders.

Process Improvement:
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize and streamline QA processes.
Assist QA managers in driving test strategy improvements, utilizing data-driven decisions.
Stay current with industry trends and contribute to the adoption of new tools and techniques that enhance QA efficiency and effectiveness.

required qualifications

2-6 years of experience in writing Automated E2E tests using Playwright and Typescript.
Experience with functional testing of web-apps using relevant tools (for e.g. chrome inspector, html-css selectors, javascript and other visual testing tools).
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
Experience in writing clear, concise tests.
Experience adding tests and features to an Automated Test framework.
Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, data structures, and algorithms.
Demonstrated experience of excellent problem-solving, analytical, and learning skills.
Experience with Git.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
Experience testing web apps.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with both white box testing.
Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
Hands-on experience creating Automation frameworks
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and React
Experience testing products which have a canvas like Excalidraw, Canva,etc.
Working knowledge of interactive 3D graphics, WebGL and related technologies.

Job Location
The opening is at the Bangalore office on a full-time basis.
