**Job Title:** Data StewardAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the setup and governance of our enterprise data catalog. This role is critical in ensuring our data assets are discoverable, trustworthy, and well-documented for business and technical users across the organization.Lead the implementation and operationalization of Alation across the organization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to catalog critical datasets, data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and metrics.Perform hands-on metadata curation, including writing and validating business definitions, technical descriptions, lineage, and data usage notes.Key Responsibilities:Profile datasets using SQL to understand structure, quality, and relationships and ensure accurate documentation.Translate complex data logic into clear, business-friendly descriptions that support data literacy across stakeholders.Coordinate with metric owners and SMEs to document and validate metric definitions, calculations, and usage context.Ensure adherence to data governance and stewardship standards, including stewardship workflows, ownership, and approvals within Alation.Drive user adoption and enablement by conducting demos, training sessions, and office hours.Establish and maintain data catalog KPIs (coverage, freshness, usage) and continuously improve catalog quality.
