Job Description:
GITAM(Deemed to be University) applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor position specializing in International Business starting. The candidate should contribute to teaching, research, and service in the area of international business, with a commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Faculty is expected to teach courses in International Business and Conduct rigorous, publishable research in reputable peer-reviewed journals in International Business or related disciplines.
- Pursue external research funding and participate in scholarly conferences. Participate in departmental, college, and university committees. Engage with the broader academic and business community through outreach, consulting, or professional organizations.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the department’s research agenda.
Teaching skills required:
International Trade, Globalization of the markets and internationalization of the firms, Classical Theories of international Business concepts of political, economic, social and cultural variables in
international business. Social and cultural competencies in international business.
Analyze international business from a multi-centric perspective, avoiding ethnocentrism. Regional Economic integration, Emerging Markets, Developing Economies and Advance Economies, International monetary and financial Environment, Introduction to WTO. Geopolitical Environment, International Economics, International Trade Logistics, International Marketing Management, Global Business Environment and Trade Policy, International Finance, International Trade Operations, Doing Business with Emerging Markets, Negotiations & Cross Cultural Management, Regional Economic Integration
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in International Business,
- Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and publication in top-tier international business journals.
- Evidence of effective teaching skills at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
