Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to support the stability, security, and performance of our SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure platforms. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, maximizing performance, availability, and capacity, while maintaining secure database configurations, roles, and permissions.Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases (2016, 2019, 2022, Azure SQL). Manage database provisioning, patching, and lifecycle maintenance. Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and capacity. Maintain secure database configurations, roles, and permissions.Performance & Optimization: Analyze and optimize T-SQL queries, indexes, and schema designs. Troubleshoot locking, blocking, and deadlock issues. Implement proactive monitoring and alerting.Backup, Recovery & High Availability: Develop and document backup and recovery procedures. Manage HA/DR solutions (Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Replication). Ensure compliance with RPO/RTO requirements.Automation & Process Improvement: Develop PowerShell and T-SQL scripts for automation. Contribute to automation initiatives within Azure DevOps. Improve Managed Services standards and runbooks.Support & Collaboration: Provide expert-level support for critical database incidents. Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, and service desk teams.
