The role of Financial Manager plays a pivotal part in driving end-to-end accounting, reporting, and compliance within the cannabis industry.Manage full-cycle accounting, general ledger, month-end closing, and financial statements under US GAAP regulations.Prepare accurate profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis to ensure informed decision-making.Ensure proper revenue recognition for B2B, managed services, and subscription products to maintain regulatory compliance.Cannabis-Specific Financial Compliance:Apply IRC Section 280E rules to guarantee compliant tax positioning.Effectively manage cost of goods sold (COGS) allocations for cultivation, processing, and retail operations.Work with METRC/seed-to-sale data to validate inventory valuation and audit trails for enhanced transparency.Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless compliance.Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A:Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, scenario models, and financial dashboards to provide actionable insights.Offer expert analysis on margins, pricing models, and operational key performance indicators to drive business growth.Lead strategic planning for new product launches and expansion initiatives to optimize financial performance.Cash Flow & Operational Finance:Oversee accounts payable/accounts receivable, vendor management, and cash-flow planning to enhance liquidity.Implement process improvements and financial controls to reduce costs and improve working capital.Integrate automation tools and technology-based financial workflows to streamline operations.Strategic Projects:Evaluate technology investments, process automation, and financial systems to identify opportunities for enhancement.Support financial due diligence, partnerships, and growth initiatives to drive long-term success.Develop financial standard operating procedures, internal controls, and audit readiness to ensure ongoing excellence.
