Senior Mortgage Underwriter JobThis role involves assessing loan documents, evaluating credit worthiness, and validating borrower's ability to repay the obligation.Evaluate complete loan documents and make approval or denial decisionsAssess borrowers' income, assets, liabilities, and collateral to determine their creditworthinessVerify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliation on borrowers' credit reportsConduct thorough income calculation, including salaried income, business income, and other forms of incomeReview collateral and property valuation to ensure its adequacy as security for the loanVerify borrowers' bank account statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investments to assess their financial stabilityCredit analysis is conducted based on 4C of underwriting (income, asset, liability, and collateral) to determine the creditworthiness of a customerValidate and process loan documents on behalf of a mortgage lender organizationDetermine borrowers' willingness and ability to repay the obligation by evaluating evidence of their repayment capacityRequirements:Minimum 5 years of experience in US mortgage underwritingSound knowledge of US residential mortgage guidelinesExposure to underwriting processes and guidelinesExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment skillsAbility to analyze and calculate qualifying income from various tax documents such as 1040s, Schedule E, 1065, 1120, 1120S, K1, transcripts, etc.
