Should have deep expertise in COBOL programming on the AS400 platform, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex business logic into technical documentation.Technical Skills – Must HaveProficient in COBOL/400, ILE COBOL, CL/400, ILE CL, SQL/400Strong experience with DB2/400 and IBM iSeries (AS400)Expertise in file handling, arrays, array search, and SORT file conceptsHands-on experience with interactive and batch debuggingSolid understanding of relational data models and data flow across systemsFamiliarity with X-Analysis, Visual Studio IDE, and RDiExperience working with display files and subfiles (screens)Tools: IBM ACS, SEU, PDMKey ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and maintenance of COBOL programs on the AS400 platform.Analyse COBOL batch programs to extract business logic and document it in Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).Experience migrating legacy AS400 system to modern tech stack using AI efficiency would be expected Write and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and file handling routines.Perform interactive and batch debugging to resolve issues efficiently.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system enhancements and modernisation efforts.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.Participate in code reviews, system testing, and deployment planning.Secondary skills:Experience in application migration or modernisation projectsKnowledge of insurance domain processes and terminologySoft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
