Design Engineer Job DescriptionThe role involves enhancing the team's technical capabilities by promoting continuous learning and ensuring skills are aligned with the latest industry practices.This includes implementing robust delivery and quality measurement processes to ensure consistency and high standards in all projects. Additionally, the role promotes technical excellence by championing best practices, innovative solutions, and performance optimization to consistently achieve exceptional project outcomes.Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the design.Provide continuous feedback to engineers on the effectiveness of protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvement.Develop positive professional relationships with colleagues, communicating openly about project progress.Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams.Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow company commercial and contracting processes.Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leaders.Identify and flag additional fees to engineers.Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering.Experience in Plumbing & Fire Protection design for commercial and residential buildings for concept, schematic and detailed design stages.Fixture load calculations, pipe pressure drop calculations.Pipe sizing for hot & cold water and fire protection.Preparation of Plumbing and Fire equipment.Schedules for Pumps, pipes, valves, etc., and BOQs.Preparation of layouts, schematics, sections, plant rooms hand mark ups.ASHRAE and ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, all NFPA Fire codes and standards.
