The Screener will be responsible for operating screening equipment, documenting findings, collaborating with other security staff, and interacting with passengers to maintain the highest standards of security.Responsibilities1. Baggage Screening and Threat DetectionAttend all regulatory trainings and clear them as per required attempts.Operate X-BIS equipment for image analysis to detect Dangerous Goods, Prohibited Articles, Weapons, or Ammunition in check-in baggage as per Avsec circulars, orders, guidelines, and SOPs.Perform physical inspections and ETD tests for baggage flagged during X-ray screening.Maintain a high standard of TIP (Threat Image Projection) scores to demonstrate strong image interpretation capabilities.2. Compliance with Aviation Security DirectivesFollow BCAS and DGCA guidelines to ensure strict compliance during baggage handling and inspection tasks.Record and document all findings and operations to meet audit and inspection requirements.3. Equipment Maintenance and Pre-Operational ChecksConduct routine pre-operational checks of X-BIS, ETD, CT-EDS, and other security equipment to confirm readiness and functionality.Report equipment malfunctions or downtime and assist in maintaining operational registers.4. Stakeholder Interaction and CoordinationWork collaboratively with CISF and Airline staff during physical baggage inspections or suspicious item resolutions.Provide timely updates to supervisors about ongoing operations or issues requiring intervention.5. Time Management and EfficiencyEnsure baggage screening and inspection are completed within strict timelines to avoid operational delays.Balance thoroughness and speed to maintain operational flow without compromising safety.6. Adequate color perception required.Hearing: Hearing loss in each ear should be less than 30 dB for frequencies below 2000 Hz.Speech: Clear ability to communicate orally efficiently and effectively.Mobility: Free from any pronounced speech impediment; able to respond in crisis situations.Sense of Smell: Ability to detect odors.Appearance: Must demonstrate civility, deportment, appearance, sobriety, and offer appropriate courtesies to the public.
