Database Support EngineerThe Database Support Engineer is a technical expert responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server database environments. They serve as the final escalation point for diagnosing and resolving complex database incidents, performance issues, and persistent problems.Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.Conduct performance tuning and optimization, including query analysis, indexing strategies, and server configuration adjustments.Strategic Improvement & Mentorship:Develop automation scripts for database maintenance, health checks, and routine administrative tasks.Collaborate with development teams on new projects and provide expert guidance on database design and scalability.Manage critical vendor relationships for issues requiring external expertise.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration and Support.Expert-level proficiency in T-SQL coding, tuning, and optimization.Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
