We are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing database systems that power high-growth applications.Design, develop, and maintain complex database schemas, queries, views, triggers, and stored procedures.Optimise database performance through techniques such as indexing, query tuning, caching, and load balancing.Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate databases effectively within Node.js services.Contribute to backend development when required using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.js.E nsure data integrity, security, backups, and high availabilitySupport system design discussions and propose scalable database solutions.Troubleshoot database-related issues and drive root-cause analysis.Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve overall application performance.The ideal candidate will have 3–6 years of dedicated experience with MySQL, including query writing, optimisation, schema design, and performance improvements.Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalisation, indexing strategies, and execution plans.Experience working on high-scale, high-growth product-based companies.Ability to design efficient, scalable database structures for B2C applications.Strong analytical mindset—able to understand why a certain approach is more optimal, not just how to implement it.Experience working in fast-paced startup environments where performance and speed matter.Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance dashboards.Experience optimising systems for speed, scalability, and reliability.Requirements:Hands-on experience with MySQL.Knowledge of Node.js services.Familiarity with database monitoring tools.Bonus Points:Experience working with TypeScript.Familiarity with Express.js.Knowledge of relational database concepts.If you are passionate about building scalable and high-performance database systems, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
