Purpose of the role:
The role will support the leadership to ensure efficient sourcing and ensure supply of Packaging materials (Paper Packaging (Cartons, Shipper cartons & labels) & Bottle (New Glass & PET bottles) as per the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.
Responsible for supporting organization to improve P&L through procurement processes within Packaging materials -Paper Packaging (Cartons, Shipper cartons & labels) & Bottle (New Glass & PET bottles).
Reporting to Head of Supply Chain & Procurement, your main responsibility will be to support the implementation of the category strategy on a national/regional level as required – focusing on the efficient use of strategic sourcing tools, processes, to maximize compliance and efficiency.
Maintains strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements. Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success. Performance affects the function’s image.
Adept in Supply Chain operations – Procurement, Vendor Development/Management, Value Engineering, Warehouse Management, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Sales & Operations Planning, and Inventory Management.
Candidate must have prior working experience in SAP -Supply Chain modules related to Supply Planning.

Detailed Responsibility:
Functional:
Support the function in designing and developing effective & enabling supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Sales, Quality, and Finance etc. to meet the business objectives.
Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of consumption in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards & regulations.
Material Resource Planning through SAP and reporting with a consolidated report on a monthly & regular basis.
Analyze volume requirements against planning assumptions.
Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule. Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers in line with the best practice in & outside the industry.
Monitor and review supplier performance to assess ability & meet quality and delivery requirements. Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes. Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success.
Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met.
Should have experience in open-book material costing and standard cost determination
Ensure delivery of material as per budgeted cost and ensure supplies of material as per budgeted/planned quantities.
Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the quality team
Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service. Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.
Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.
Participate in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving.
Develop & maintain excellent relationship all the internal/external stake holders for economic procurement of materials, and with Transporters to meet business needs within cost & time-led targets and also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
Familiarity with Material Planning, MIS, SAP reports, organization/industry specific Quality procedure, and modern supply chain techniques.
Team Management:
Mentor and develop direct reportees, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
Able to lead and manage a team with excellent results and delivery record

Experience:
15+ years of experience in Procurement of packaging materials for multiple units.
Vendor management experience at cluster/multiple regions or a national level for supporting multiple location and large Manufacturing units.
Should be proficient in Supply Chain operations – Procurement, Vendor Development/Management, Value Engineering, Warehouse Management, Packaging Innovation, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Sales & Operations Planning, and Inventory Management.
Materials Planning: Scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials to maintain the minimum inventory levels at units.
Candidate must have prior experience in SAP implementation of Supply Chain modules related to Supply Planning.
Should have experience in handling packaging material procurement
Preferably should be from FMCG/Alco-beverages Company.

Educational Qualification:
Any graduate with MBA (Material Management/ Operations).
