Accountant Role Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to manage our day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks.The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of QuickBooks, as well as experience with payments, billing, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial tracking.Manage general ledger recordsProcess accounts receivable and accounts payable, including preparing and scheduling paymentsHandle reconciliation of bank, credit card, and payment accountsManage edge cases and exceptions not covered by automated systemsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsSupport Canadian tax compliance (GST/HST, payroll remittances, year-end filing)Assist with U.S. tax-related tasks as we expand into the U.S.Requirements and Qualifications:Strong knowledge of QuickBooks (mandatory)Experience with payments, billing, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial trackingComfortable with technology and working in an automated environmentAbility to troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and handle non-standard casesKnowledge of Canadian tax processes preferredFamiliarity with U.S. tax is an assetExtremely detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skillsExcellent communication and ability to work independentlyPrior bookkeeping or accounting experience (small business/startup experience is a plus)
