Role: DataOps Engineer – Database AdministrationLocation: Chennai/Madurai (Hybrid) Experience : 3–7 years We are looking for a skilled and proactive DataOps Engineer with strong expertise in Database Administration (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of modern data infrastructure, SQL Server internals, and performance tuning, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Familiarity with AI-enhanced monitoring and automation will be considered a strong advantage as we evolve toward intelligent operations. Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and manage SQL Server databases including AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAGs) and Failover Cluster Instances (FCIs)Optimize performance using advanced query tuning, indexing strategies (clustered, non-clustered, filtered), and execution plansTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues like blocking, deadlocks, and slow queriesImplement modern DBA practices aligned with DevOps/DataOps principlesAutomate routine DBA tasks through scripts and tools (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL)Monitor and manage cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS)Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of data systemsMaintain and enhance database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategiesRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of SQL Server architecture and internalsProven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and index strategiesProficient in T-SQL scripting and database automationExperience troubleshooting live database issues and identifying bottlenecksHands-on with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking abilitiesPreferred / Advantageous SkillsExperience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administrationFamiliarity with AI-powered database monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds with ML models, AIOps platforms)Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and database DevOps toolsExperience with predictive analytics for capacity planning or anomaly detectionKnowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with NoSQL and Big Data platformsSoft SkillsClear and effective communicatorFast learner, adaptable to new technologies and environmentsSelf-starter with a collaborative mindset
