About the Role :


The opportunity is to work in an intersection of design, construction and technology that helps accelerate innovation in the Architecture and Construction industry. The position will be based in India. 

 

We are looking for talented, experienced and tech-oriented computational structural architects and engineers in the building construction and development space to accelerate crafting next generation automation platform which will significantly enhance the productivity and creativity of the building and construction industry, including with the use of AI.

 

Synergy ML has been working with this client for 5 years. Stock Options will be offered as part of the compensation package.

  

Your key responsibilities will be:


·        Work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of like-minded professionals – architects/engineers from both construction (design, structural, spatial and MEPF) and technology sectors including product development, UX, UI, Cloud/SaaS, DevOps, etc. – with a singular focus on building a platform which not only automates the oft-repeated activities but also provides accurate and compliant building designs that follows DfMA principles and implements integrated design and development guidelines at its core.

·        Bring strong knowledge of structural behavior of the buildings, their layered load paths and simulating the patterns of different components / materials used.

·        Apply numerical methods and provide optimized algorithms to compute, which can help simulate different scenarios acting upon the structural frame and their adaptations / recommendations for those scenarios.

·        Apply working understanding of mathematics and computational science to develop workflows, logic and algos which will power core platform capabilities in generating design, visualize geometry, provide interconnections between different building sections, match right components from the supplier’s catalog for different building topologies, calculate carbon / related sustainable metrics and accelerate the planning process for the property developers.

·        Bring extensive experience of articulating design, structural problems, documenting them and provide contextual frame of reference to guide software engineering teams to translate into code.

·        Help evaluate, troubleshoot, optimize the platform generated designs for its applicability, accuracy and completeness from a practitioners or end-user point of view. In other words, you shall help define quality levels of the product generated code/designs/workflows/algos.  

·        Help define industry-first object model of sort for the building design system that can be universally applied across different stages of the planning, development, construction and operations. 

·        Help define interoperability workflows and guidelines – for the platform – with other standard authoring/design/compliance/BIM products.

·        Work extensively with the customer prospects/domain experts/other Subject Matter experts (SMEs) – to capture/optimize workflows, specifications that will be required to accomplish podium’s automation objective.

·        You will be at the forefront of the latest developments and advancements in the industry and have a pulse on the evolving computational design and parametric modelling frameworks. 

 

 

Qualifications

·        Bachelors/Masters in Computational Engineering / Civil Engineering / Architecture with 5-8 years of progressive work experience in Building Construction Management / Design / Architecture or equivalent.

·        Professional experience in numerical structural design of buildings and application of mathematics and geometry.

·        Top-notch technical design and construction knowledge in engineering component design and its applicability to relevant building sections.

·        Proven expertise in usage/development of design automation workflows using tools like Grasshopper, Revit, Bentley, etc.

·        Working knowledge and development experience of scripts or plugins or algos using SDKs / APIs for Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, Dynamo, etc.

·        Helpful - Strong flair for computer software programming using any of – Python, C#, Java

·        Past contributions or work experience in the teams developing automation software / generative design systems using algorithms a big plus.

·        Prior experience and knowledge of BIM Platforms.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve structural engineering challenges.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to help remove ambiguity.

·        Collaborative and an excellent team player.
