KAYA | Generative AI Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with extensive experience in cutting-edge Generative AI, especially AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and advanced Language Model (SLM/LLM) implementations. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of next-generation AI-powered systems that leverage small and large language models, multi-agent frameworks, and complex contextual embeddings. Your expertise will influence not only technical decisions but also product strategy and innovation, guiding a small team to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
You will drive the end-to-end development of AI-centric functionalities, ensuring seamless integration across both backend and frontend layers. You will:
Design and Implement Gen AI Systems: Design and deploy AI Agents, Agent orchestrations within agentic frameworks, RAG-driven workflows and harness both small and large language models to deliver contextually aware, intelligent experiences.
Optimize AI Methodologies: Apply best practices in prompt engineering, query expansion, chunking strategies, re-ranking, response refinements, and vector-based retrieval to enhance model performance, accuracy, and responsiveness.
Integrate with Backend and Frontend: Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (with FastAPI) and ensure smooth data flow to a React-based (preferred) or Angular frontend. Utilize real-time communication methods (e.g., WebSockets) as needed, while prioritizing more critical AI data pipelines and workflow orchestration.
Leverage AIML Libraries and Datastores: Employ tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and LangGraph to construct intelligent, context-driven solutions, and efficiently manage both relational and vector databases to support large-scale AI deployments.
Utilize Cloud Platforms: Deploy and manage AI solutions on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, taking full advantage of their machine learning and scaling capabilities.
Drive Architectural Excellence: Apply strong design principles and best practices to craft scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems that handle complex multi-agent interactions and high-volume queries.
Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor a small team of engineers, set technical standards, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative culture. You will also engage with clients, translating their requirements into technical solutions, communicating progress, and ensuring deliverables meet their expectations.
Continuous Innovation: Stay current with the evolving AI landscape. Experiment with emerging techniques, refine internal process, and champion the adoption of new technology.
Required Skills
- Generative AI Expertise: Advanced knowledge in AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Prompt Engineering.
- Advanced Python Programming: Proficiency in Python, particularly for AI-driven applications, with experience in frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
- Vector Databases: Strong skills in managing and utilizing vector databases for AI solutions.
- FastAPI & NodeJS: Experience in building backend services using FastAPI or NodeJS.
- UI/UX Design: Ability to design and implement intuitive user interfaces, with beginner to intermediate proficiency in React.
- LlamaIndex & SLM/LLM Integration: Familiarity with LlamaIndex and expertise in integrating System Language Models/Large Language Models into applications.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years in full-stack development with a focus on AI.
- Proven track record leading small engineering teams and delivering complex AI-driven products.
- Direct client-facing experience, from requirements gathering to final delivery.
