Job Overview:
We are seeking a TOSCA Automation Senior Engineer who has automation experience in ETL, DWH & BI to join our team. The ideal candidate should have certifications in TOSCA and will have hands-on experience in automation of API’s, ETL jobs, DWH application & BI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate business requirements, automate system integration testing (SIT), support user acceptance testing (UAT), and support the overall software implementation lifecycle.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to understand requirements and technical reference documents and be able to understand business requirements
- Prepare test Plan and automation test strategy documents for data warehousing applications
- Ability to understand existing automation framework and to create or enhance the framework
- Developed automation scripts, testing of scripts and execute as necessary
- Identifying/creating test data to cover identified test scenarios
- Managed lower environments for testing availability and test data preparation
- Perform extensive data validation against data warehouse using automation
- Ability to write PL/SQL queries and validate PL/SQL stored procedures
- Responsible for browser compatibility testing on different platforms and data validations for all reports using automation
- Automate the testing of data validation jobs developed in the Data Stage environment.
- Validate ETL processes to load data through the Staging layer into DWH using automation
- Ability to use UNIX command to start, stop and ping the server and create UNIX Shell scripts to automate the process.
- Ability to create UNIX Shell Scripts and PERL scripts for data loading, data parsing, file manipulation and text processing needs.
- Resolving automation script issues during execution runs and maintenance of scripts
- Responsible for reporting defects found during testing and retest of defects
- Ability to understand, troubleshoot and differentiate defects, data issues and requirement gaps
- Responsible for on-time delivery and timely escalations/update of risks, issues, status and exemptions to leadership
- Effective communication with the team, leadership, internal and external customers covering all aspects of team needs
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to validate defect fixes and re-test impacted areas
- Assist business users during UAT and other testing phases by providing support and providing feedback for improvement.
- Awareness of different software development and QA methodologies
- Stay up to date with the latest automation tools, technologies and trends
Required Skills & Competencies
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Good Knowledge of PL/SQL and hands on experience writing complex SQL queries and SP’s
- Experience in Automation of data migrations, database transferring and data warehousing
- Knowledge of CI/CD implementation
- Experience in TOSCA automation
- Experience in Java or C# based automation frameworks
- Familiarity with DataStage and Teradata
- Experience in SOAP services testing
- Experience in banking/fintech applications testing is a plus
- Good analytical skills, troubleshooting and resolution skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to self-learn and grasp the knowledge quickly
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in the quality assurance industry, along with relevant tertiary qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on automation testing experience in ETL, DWH & BI areas
- Certification in TOSCA is a must
- Certification in ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) is a plus
