As an DBA you would be required to have:
- Expertise in RDBMS(MySql, PostgreSQL), NoSQL(documentDB/MongoDB) database administration on AWS.
- Ensure best practices of database access and security.
- Experience on Database migration tasks using AWS DMS/backups/restoration.
- Eager to learn new technologies, tools and collaborate with the SRE team on database automation.
- Expertise monitoring Database performance metrics using PMM, AWS RDS console,performance insights and cloudwatch and proactively identify and address/troubleshoot potential issues.
- Have hands-on experience in planning and implementing database activities with no/minimal downtime.
- Exposure to handle high workload OLTP databases.
- Work closely with the development team to derive database solutioning.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL and database scripting languages.
- Good understanding of different file formats like xml, yml, json, parquet.
- Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, performance analysis, and system tuning in AWS.
- Exposure writing runbooks adequately and turn repeatable actions into automation.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Gitlab, terraform and other development tools is a plus.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 6 years of industry experience
- Exposure on AWS DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Redshift, DMS, CloudWatch
- Interested to learn DevOps on AWS
