Nakshatra Systems is seeking a software repository specialist who can ensure the integrity and reliability of our software repository.The ideal candidate will have expertise in Linux, Bash scripting, C, and Python programming languages.Responsibilities include compiling and creating software from source code, managing software dependencies, and providing software patches.Additionally, the successful candidate will be skilled in understanding and modifying Makefiles, monitoring and addressing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining changelogs and documentation.Experience with CVS and Git version control systems is also required.A strong troubleshooting skillset and ability to work independently are essential for this role.This part-time contract position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work remotely.The initial tenure is 6 months, renewable based on performance.Only candidates with relevant skills will be contacted for further evaluation.A good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility is mandatory for remote logins and work.Vacancy: 1Minimum experience: 1-2 yearsRequired technical skills:Proficient in Linux, Bash scripting, C, and Python programming languages.Compiling and creating software from source code.Managing software dependencies.Patching - creating / providing / managing software patches.Ability to understand and create or modify Makefiles as necessary.Monitoring and staying current with CVE's and providing solutions.Maintaining Changelog and other documentation.Providing bug fixes, Reviewing changes.Knowledge of CVS and Git.Connecting with upstream developer for solutions if needed to get issues resolved.Good troubleshooting skills.Knowledge of Slackware Linux (a HUGE plus).Non-technical skills required:Fluency in English with good verbal and written skills.Ability to work in a team as well as independently.Capacity to resolve assigned tasks in the specified time-frame/deadlines.
