Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Strategic Direction:

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the international student recruitment team in South India, setting ambitious goals to drive global enrolment growth and support institutional objectives.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performance team, focusing on professional development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Ensure alignment of team activities with organizational goals by establishing clear performance metrics, providing ongoing feedback, and promoting an environment where creativity and strategic thinking are encouraged.
  • Act as a mentor to team members, offering guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals and excel in their roles.


International Student Recruitment and Outreach:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, data-informed recruitment strategies aimed at attracting a diverse, high-calibre pool of international students.
  • Build, cultivate, and manage strong relationships with educational consultants, agents, and recruitment partners to diversify recruitment channels and expand the institution's global reach.
  • Represent the institution at international recruitment events, educational fairs, and conferences to enhance visibility, attract prospective students, and build the institution’s reputation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create and deliver targeted promotional campaigns and materials tailored for international audiences, aligning recruitment efforts with broader institutional branding initiatives.


Admissions Management and Policy Oversight:

  • Oversee the full admissions cycle from application evaluation to enrolment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a seamless experience for prospective students.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update admissions policies, ensuring compliance with institutional standards, regulatory requirements, and international education best practices.
  • Facilitate close coordination with academic departments and faculty to streamline applicant evaluation processes, supporting timely admissions decisions and applicant communications.
  • Implement and oversee technology solutions to enhance admissions workflows, improve data integrity, and provide superior applicant experience.


Operational and Financial Excellence:

  • Manage the operational and financial aspects of the international recruitment and admissions functions, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and cost control.
  • Establish, assess, and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability, adapting to changes in international student recruitment landscapes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies related to international student recruitment and admissions.


Data-Driven Strategy and Reporting:

  • Utilise data analytics and reporting tools to monitor recruitment and admissions performance, evaluate trends, and make strategic, data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, offering insights into key performance indicators, market trends, and progress toward strategic recruitment goals.


Business Development and Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities and partnerships that support international student recruitment and expand the institution’s global presence.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement strategic business development plans, conducting market research, competitor analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, corporate partners, and international organizations, to enhance recruitment efforts and strengthen institutional networks.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with prospective partners, ensuring agreements are aligned with the institution’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Stay abreast of international education trends, emerging markets, and evolving industry standards, offering recommendations for adapting strategies to remain competitive and relevant.


Branding, Marketing, and Representation:

  • Develop and oversee marketing and branding strategies tailored to international markets, leveraging digital platforms, social media, and other communication channels to reach diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, admissions, and academic departments, to create customized solutions and services that meet the needs of international students and partner organizations.
  • Represent the institution at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events, positioning the organization as a leader in international education, fostering relationships, and exploring potential partnerships.

Requirements for the Role:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Business Administration, International Relations, Education).
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in international student recruitment, admissions, or related areas, with a track record of success in leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing diverse teams, providing strategic direction, and achieving ambitious enrolment targets.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with international recruitment partners, educational consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing marketing and outreach strategies for international markets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences and building long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency in English and Malayalam.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and optimize recruitment strategies.
  • Financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • In-depth understanding of international student recruitment trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, branding, and leveraging social media for global outreach.
  • Knowledge of admissions management systems and CRM tools for streamlining workflows and enhancing applicant experiences.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for recruitment events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving recruitment landscapes.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the institution professionally at external events.
