Our IoT enabled electric induction stoves and biodigesters replace biomass-fueled cooking in Asia and Africa, while simultaneously generating fully digitised carbon credits and providing households at the base of the pyramid with access to global carbon markets. ATEC is decarbonising cooking through verifiable technology and solving a health problem that affects 1 in 2 people on the planet.
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain at ATEC will oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations from contract- manufacturing and procurement to destination country logistics: involving stove and component manufacturers, external logistics partners and distributors servicing ATEC’s clients in Asia and Africa. The role is key for ATEC to ensure efficient procurement, production, and distribution processes, optimization of costs, fulfillment of partner and customer demand and maintaining high-quality standards across the supply chain. The Senior Manager, Supply Chain will work in close cooperation with colleagues from our Global Operations team based in South East Asia
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Chain Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop a comprehensive supply chain strategy that align with ATEC’s global business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end supply chain execution for ATEC, including implementation of the supply chain strategy with effective procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, shipping and clearing and last mile delivery
- Identify and manage risks within the supply chain, particularly in the context of cross-border operations with partners.
- Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency and sustainability.
Supplier and Vendor Management
- Maintain strong relationships with Chinese and Indian appliance and component manufacturers
- Drive negotiation of contracts, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal terms and conditions.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on supplier due diligence assessments ensuring quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
Logistics and Distribution
- Oversee logistics operations, including coordination of third-party warehousing, transportation, and distribution, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Collaborate with logistics partners in Asia and Africa to optimize shipping routes, reduce lead times, and manage transportation costs.
- Implement and monitor ATEC’s inventory management system to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
Production Planning and Coordination
- Work closely with ATEC’s New Markets team and with contract manufacturing partners to align manufacturing schedules with supply chain demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Monitor production progress and address any issues that may impact delivery timelines to optimize inventory levels across locations.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure that all products sourced from Chinese and Indian contract manufacturers meet ATEC Global’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes throughout the supply chain.
- Address any non-compliance issues with suppliers and logistics partners promptly and effectively.
Cost Management and Optimization
- Analyze supply chain costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or service levels.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing, process improvements, and strategic sourcing.
- Regularly review and optimize supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, including, production, finance, and sales/new markets, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Communicate supply chain performance metrics and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving supply chain performance and supporting business growth.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Proven track record of managing supply chains involving manufacturers and logistics partners in China and India.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and logistics optimization.
- Experience and strong personal network in the consumer goods industry, particularly in the manufacturing and distribution of stoves or electrical appliances/components, is highly desirable.
Skills
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Deep understanding of supply chain management principles, including procurement, production planning, logistics, and inventory management.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in supply chain management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral)
