Consultant - Rail Modelling & Simulation

DescriptionAs a Consultant - Rail Modelling and Simulation at GCC, you will be part of a group that is a trusted advisory and delivery partner to transport businesses and governments both in the UK and overseas. You will work alongside rail operational consultants, engineers to develop analytical and visual models that demonstrate how rail systems can be operated.The role requires demonstrated experience in Agent based Modelling, with AnyLogic software experience, strategic and critical thinking together with understanding of how a railway system can be operated to deliver the outcomes of moving people and goods to deliver social, economic, and environmental value and help our clients solve the most complex rail transportation problems.ResponsibilitiesWorking collaboratively as part of a team to develop innovative solutions to complex rail problems.Scoping out project modelling requirements and undertaking data analysis/preparation.Developing or enhancing AnyLogic models in accordance with our Quality Assurance processes to deliver project outcomes to time and budget.Assisting to produce clearly written, concise and professional quality reports and proposals to our clients.Sharing lessons learned and knowledge with the team, engaging in development opportunities across projects, team meetings and through industry engagements.QualificationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Computer Science Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline.ExperienceMinimum of 5+ years of experience in planning, analyzing, designing, applying, evaluating and developing simulation models & innovative solutions to solve the complex problems in the rail transportation or similar industry.Proficiency in Any Logic software.Desired Skills and KnowledgeFamiliar with engineering design software, simulation software, coding, debugging, and data analysis tools.Strong in data analysis, interpretation, attention to detail and problem solving.An ability to reason logically and apply a systematic process to finding solutions, proactive in responding to problems, able to apply sound logic in situations of ambiguity and problem-solving methodologies across a range of circumstances.Actively champion sharing knowledge, ideas, and intelligence. Strong presentation skills influential and persuasive internally and externally, encouraging open dialogue and feedback.A forward-thinking mindset, capable of visualising and planning for the longer term.Knowledge of the rail sector and rail operational planning and/or experience with building and simulating rail models would be an advantage.Personal AttributesAn ability to establish, build, sustain and share strong, professional relationships with relevant groups both inside and outside the organization. A desire to constantly improve, motivate and encourage others.Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, programme, delivery, budget, professional development and continuous improvement.Actively upholding our guiding principles, promoting inclusivity and diversity, health and safety.BGVEmployment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ("BGV") check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner".
