Job Title: Senior Database ArchitectWe're seeking an experienced Senior Database Architect/Developer with deep expertise in DB2 databases and proven experience in migrating on-premises databases to AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL.Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.7+ years of experience in database development and management.Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 database architecture and administration.Proven experience in migrating DB2 databases to AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL.Expertise in PostgreSQL development, including stored procedures, functions, indexing, and performance tuning.Familiarity with ETL tools, data transformation, and scripting languages (Python, Shell, or equivalent).Strong understanding of data modelling, normalization, and database optimization techniques.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Define database models, schemas, and structures for applications.Evaluate and choose the right database technologies.Monitor system performance (queries, indexes, workloads).Optimise queries, indexing strategies, and storage.Oversee backups, restores, patching, replication, failover strategies.Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.Manage data migrations and upgrades.Implement access control, encryption, and compliance standards.Ensure data integrity, consistency, and auditability.Lead a team of DBAs (database administrators), data engineers, or developers.
