Snowflake Administrator US ShiftWe are seeking an experienced Snowflake administrator to oversee our entire data platform.Key Responsibilities:Platform Administration:Manage warehouses, databases, schemas, stages, file formats, and pipes across the full Snowflake environment.Configure virtual warehouses, resource monitors, and performance settings for optimal efficiency.Oversee account-level settings, parameter configurations, and global policies to ensure seamless operations.User & Access Management:Create and manage users, roles, and permissions based on Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) best practices.Maintain secure access controls in line with data governance policies, including authentication and authorization protocols.Audit access privileges regularly to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.Security & Governance:Implement advanced security features, such as masking policies, row-access policies, encryption, OAuth, SSO & MFA, to safeguard sensitive data.Ensure adherence to company and industry security standards through regular monitoring and assessments.Detect and address suspicious or unauthorized activities promptly to prevent potential breaches.Performance Optimization:Monitor query performance and troubleshoot slow-running queries to optimize database efficiency.Adjust virtual warehouse sizes, auto-suspend, and auto-resume settings to achieve optimal performance.Recommend improvements to schema design, clustering keys, data organization, and partitioning strategies.Data Pipeline Support:Collaborate closely with data engineers to configure Snowpipe settings, streams, tasks, stages, ETL/ELT integrations, and support ingestion frameworks.Resolve load failures and monitor data flow health to ensure uninterrupted data processing.Cost Management:Track and optimize compute and storage costs to minimize expenses.Develop usage monitoring dashboards and alerts to notify stakeholders of cost trends.Provide periodic cost reports and recommendations to leadership to inform strategic decisions.Maintenance & Monitoring:Perform daily monitoring of Snowflake logs, warehouse consumption, and system health to identify potential issues early.Troubleshoot operational problems and coordinate with the engineering team to resolve them efficiently.Stay up-to-date with Snowflake releases, updates, and patches to maintain a secure and optimized environment.Documentation & Process Management:Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform configurations, standards, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for user management, cost controls, access requests, and query optimization.Train internal teams and support data enablement initiatives to drive business growth and success.Collaboration:Foster close working relationships with BI/Analytics, Data Engineering, DevOps, and IT Security teams to achieve common goals.Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the scaling of data platforms to meet evolving business needs.Provide technical guidance on Snowflake best practices to support ongoing and new projects.
