Job Description

What are we looking for?

Architect & designing Skills in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

Data center Migration Experience.

Design, deploy, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments in Microsoft Azure

Manage virtual desktops, pools, connection servers and other AVD components in optimal performance.

Implement the process for the deployment of software updates, patches, and new applications on AVD and other relevant tools.

Desktop Image Management: Create and manage desktop images for VMware Horizon View and Azure Virtual Desktop

Implement optimizations for performance and resource efficiency.

User Profile Management: Configure and manage user profiles in virtual desktop environments.

Implement profile solutions to ensure consistent user experiences.

Application Virtualization: Package and deploy applications using VMware App Volumes or equivalent technologies for AVD.

Manage GPO specific to AVD OUs for security hardening and automation.

Ensure compatibility and performance of virtualized applications.

Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to safeguard virtual desktop infrastructure in both environments.

Azure load balancing options, including Traffic Manager, Azure Media Services, CDN, Azure Active Directory, Azure Cache, Multi-Factor Authentication and Service Bus.

Ability to work with command line implementation using PowerShell, Azure Modules and automate minor tasks.

FS Logix Profile Containers configuration on VM Cluster, Azure Storage account File share

Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of virtual desktop environments and take proactive measures to optimize resource utilization.

In-depth understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure traffic manager, AD sites , replication topology, apply security on different azure resources and application

Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues.

End-User Support: Provide support to end-users experiencing issues with virtual desktop access or applications.

Collaborate with helpdesk and support teams to address user needs.

Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of VMware Horizon View and AVD configurations, procedures, and best practices

Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate virtual desktop solutions with broader IT infrastructure

Participate in projects related to virtual desktop enhancements or expansions.

Good-to-Have:

  • Experience working with Amazon Workspaces or Amazon AppStream
  • AWS, Cloud Migration Experience in planning and execution
  • AWS and VMWare Administration
  • Data Center Migration planning and design experience
  • SCCM and Intune knowledge is added advantage.

Roles/Expectations from the role:

Understanding of business requirement of the critical applications and ensure alignment. Should be able to perform all aspects of core administration from installation to disaster recovery

Ensure performance and availability by monitoring space, CPU usage, Proactive management of the issues

Knowledgeable in backup/recovery, high availability, data replication and as per the requirement

Able to work 24x7 support model and flexible for shifts

Experience with analytical and problem-solving, excellent performance tuning skills

Able to work well with all disciplines on the team

Minimum Qualification: 15 years of full-time education
