Backend Software Engineer RoleThis is a high-scale, low-latency systems engineer position. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable software solutions using Java, Go, Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and other technologies.You will have experience handling millions of requests per minute, ensuring sub-50ms latencies, and maintaining >99.9% availability.You will design and implement distributed systems, including data platforms, ML/LLM-powered features, and streaming/event processing systems.You will work with cross-functional teams to design and implement system architecture, observability, reliability, and performance optimization.Key Skills:Distributed Systems ArchitectureMicroservices DesignReal-Time Event ProcessingSearch, Listing & Recommendation SystemsPerformance Optimization & Latency ReductionAPI & Database ModelingReliability Engineering & ExperimentationAchievements:You have designed end-to-end search frameworks for multiple verticals with 200K+ restaurants & 70M+ items.You have built real-time ingestion pipelines processing 300K+ RPM with sub-20ms latency across multiple consumers.You have deployed LLM-powered vector search (768-dim embeddings) achieving +3% conversion uplift, +2.3% ads RPO improvement, and improved search latency by 50%.You have built contextual ad-placement systems driving 15% uplift in ad revenue.Requirements:6+ years of experience in building high-scale, low-latency systems.A strong focus on system design, observability, reliability, data platforms, and ML/LLM-powered features.Experience with Java, Go, Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and other technologies.The ability to work with cross-functional teams to design and implement system architecture.
