Role
Digital Project Managers have responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of projects, ensuring the highest quality of deliverables within agreed time and costs. They are expected to provide strong leadership and direction to project teams, taking ownership for the development of project scope and implementation. As part of the role the Digital Project Manager is charged with ensuring clear lines of communication and managing client expectations appropriately through all stages of delivery.
The purpose of the role is to:
- Can understand, communicate and translate Japanese language and culture with N2 Certification proficiency.
- Set standards for delivery that inspire and motivate others within project teams they may be involved with
- Ensure all projects are managed on time and to agreed cost
- Effectively manage strong on-going relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Effectively manage multiple jobs / work streams where required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and deal with problems as they arise, escalating and involving Senior management where appropriate
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients to deliver objectives
- Manage the effective and efficient delivery of client deliverables
- Understand the digital briefing process, using the relevant documentation
- Manage the preparation of budgets and timescales with Senior Management
- Ensure all relevant briefings, project initiation, functional specification documentation and production schedules are provided at the point of briefing
- Liaise with the Senior Project Managers on a regular basis to ensure all activity is delivered on time and within budget
- Ensure all work is QA and all mandatory requirements have been included before work leaves the studio
- Have an awareness of the implications of different technical choices e.g. AEM, DRUPAL CMS content publishing
- Assist the Finance team in the timely preparation of invoices
- Assist in the resolution of billing issues
- Be conscious of delivering efficiency in terms of your time management
- Ensure timesheets are completed each week
- Solicit input and provide guidance to team members where appropriate across all levels within the digital team
- Demonstrate a positive, solutions-orientated attitude
- Must be able to work flexible hours
REQUIRED SKILLS
- N2 Certified Japanese language, can Read, Write and Speak Japanese language fluently.
- Must have 5 to 7+ years’ experience of project management / production, best practices, methodologies, and processes
- Experience of formal project management methodology (e.g. Prince 2, Agile)
- Able to manage multiple projects/tasks at once
- Significant experience of MS Project, Visio, Excel is mandatory
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, ASP, XML, PHP, content management systems and other appropriate systems and platforms
- Appreciation of information architecture, creative and design, web usability and accessibility, user experience
- Ability to lead cross-functional team of designers, developers, and other staff
- Understand and articulate digital creative, technology, and programming to audiences of varying knowledge
- Highly motivated, adaptable, innovative, and keen to learn new skills
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
