Role Overview


The Offshore SAP Lead will serve as the primary point of contact for all offshore SAP resources, ensuring smooth coordination of daily operations, project activities, and strategic initiatives. This role is critical to maintaining delivery excellence, governance, and alignment with business and IT objectives across the SAP landscape.


Key Responsibilities

Team & Delivery Management

- Act as the single point of contact (POC) for all offshore SAP resources.

- Oversee daily task assignments, progress tracking, and issue resolution.

- Monitor and report on team performance, workload distribution, and utilization.


Project Coordination

- Coordinate offshore activities across SAP projects including development, testing, and deployment.

- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and adherence to timelines.

- Lead offshore execution during project go-lives and hypercare support.


Governance & Compliance

- Ensure offshore team adherence to SAP CoE governance, standards, and guidelines.

- Represent offshore team in Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and ensure proper documentation and approvals.

- Maintain compliance with SLA and KPI metrics; generate regular performance reports.


Testing & Quality Assurance

- Coordinate and oversee Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

- Ensure test cases are executed, defects are tracked, and resolutions are communicated effectively.


Stakeholder Communication

- Liaise with onsite leads, business stakeholders, and functional teams to ensure alignment.

- Escalate risks and dependencies proactively and propose mitigation strategies.


Knowledge Management & Enablement

- Facilitate knowledge sharing and documentation of processes, configurations, and lessons learned.

- Support onboarding and training of new offshore team members.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities in offshore delivery.

- Recommend automation, standardization, or optimization initiatives.


Required Skills & Qualifications

- 15+ years of SAP experience, with at least 10 years in a lead or coordination role.

- Strong understanding of SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, etc.) and integration points.

- Experience managing offshore teams in a global delivery model.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

- Familiarity with project management tools ( ServiceNow, Solution Manager, CHARM, JIRA, tricentis, HP ALM,etc,).

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.


Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in SAP ECC environments.

- Exposure to Agile or hybrid project methodologies.

- ITIL or PMP certification is a plus.
