JOB DESCRIPTION:


VRO Packaging Regulatory Packaging Developer:

The Packaging Developer ensures the new packaging being created adheres to the project's Regulatory requirements. They support the project brand leads by ensuring all the packaging aspects meet the quality, cost, functionality, and manufacturing requirements within a managed timeline.

The following are additional duties and responsibilities that a project developer should be able to do:

Objectives of this role:

• Ensure that packages/components meet the needs of the Brand, Regulatory and Environmental Legislation, and consumer safety (for example, artwork copy changes).

• Work with Brand leads to generate/execute bill of materials efficiently and process artwork correctly.

• Ensure filling/assembly instructions and torque information are provided for all components.

• Develop package specifications and validate that technical drawings clearly identify all aspects required to define the package.

• Extensive experience working with teams across Artwork, Suppliers, and Procurement.

• Comply with the established Regulatory project processes (e.g. change control documentation/Regulated Drug Products) and standard templates.

• Identify and inform Brand leads and Procurement of any risks and or delays during development.

• Escalate all identified project related risks or issues to the Project Manager.

• Collaborate with the Project Manger & Packaging Coordinators to ensure that all project data/systems/trackers are current, and project documents are up to date.

• Implement package test plans if needed.

• Provide Auditing Support:

o Across Bill of Materials, Artwork and Component Specifications.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Minimum BS degree in Packaging Science or Engineering.

• 5+ years' experience in cosmetic/beauty package development.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.

• Experience in cosmetic/beauty industry.

• The successful candidate will be expected to work US Eastern Standard Time for 40 hours per week.

• Experience developing packaging components such as, folding cartons, rigid boxes, tubes, bottles, jars, packettes and pressure sensitive labels.

• Experience in packaging component artwork, die lines/decoration area and decoration methods.

• Experience managing packaging component timelines.

• Experience proofreading artwork, approving specifications, and setting standards.


Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Proficiency in computer systems including Unique Package Definition Systems, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams and Timeline management systems.

• Knowledge of packaging technology, materials, and design principles with knowledge of testing methods, regulations, and standards for packaging.

• Knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging including but not limited to:

o Assembly of components.

o Folding carton and rigid box design.

o Knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.

o Knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance.
