Master Data Management Specialist


Location: Gurgaon, India

Experience Required: 7 to 13 Years


Role Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist with a strong background in data governance, data quality, and metadata management. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of enterprise data assets. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and maintain best practices for data management and governance.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Master Data Management:

• Develop and implement MDM strategies, ensuring accurate, reliable, and consistent master data across the organization.

• Lead MDM initiatives, including data modeling, data integration, and data harmonization.

• Define and enforce standards for master data creation, maintenance, and usage.

2. Data Governance:

• Establish and maintain data governance frameworks and policies.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards for data usage.

• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to promote data stewardship and accountability.

3. Data Quality Management:

• Design and implement data quality controls to monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.

• Identify and resolve data quality issues and establish processes for continuous improvement.

• Conduct root cause analysis for data inconsistencies and propose remediation strategies.

4. Metadata Management:

• Develop and maintain a centralized metadata repository to provide transparency and accessibility.

• Define and manage metadata standards, ensuring proper documentation of data assets.

• Enable discovery and utilization of metadata to support data-driven decision-making.

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Partner with business leaders, data owners, and IT teams to align MDM goals with organizational objectives.

• Provide thought leadership on data governance, quality, and MDM best practices.

• Facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote a data-driven culture.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


• Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in MDM tools (e.g., Informatica MDM, SAP MDG, Talend, or similar platforms).

• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality tools, and metadata management systems.

• Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration technologies.

• Experience:

• 7–13 years of experience in MDM, data governance, data quality, and metadata management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead MDM and data governance initiatives in complex organizational environments.

• Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.


Preferred Skills:


• Knowledge of data privacy regulations like GDPR, CCPA, or similar frameworks.

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Certification in data governance or MDM tools.
