Job OverviewThis role is responsible for conducting in-depth examinations of the bank's risk models to ensure they operate as intended and comply with regulatory requirements.Lead validation and review efforts, focusing on model soundness, data accuracy, methodology, and ongoing performance through various techniques such as backtesting, benchmarking, and stress testing.Present findings, weaknesses, and observations from the validation process to model developers/owners and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.Prepare detailed reports and memoranda documenting the validation approach, results, and conclusions.Collaborate with internal audit teams and regulatory examiners to present validation outcomes and methodologies, as well as assist in addressing any audit or exam findings.Develop expertise in modeling techniques, risk management practices, and regulatory trends by performing research and developing advanced analytical tools or benchmarking models to enhance the validation process.Key ResponsibilitiesSome key responsibilities of this position include:Quantitative Model Validation: Perform thorough assessments of the bank's risk models to ensure their conceptual soundness, data accuracy, and ongoing performance.Model Review: Conduct independent reviews of the bank's risk models to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for enhancement.Validation Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing the validation approach, results, and conclusions, as well as presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.Risk Management: Collaborate with internal audit teams and regulatory examiners to ensure the bank's risk models align with regulatory requirements and best practices.About the RoleThis is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of risk management principles, modeling techniques, and regulatory requirements.
