Mortgage Underwriter SpecialistWe are seeking a Mortgage Underwriter Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our mortgage lending organization, you will play a crucial role in evaluating loan documents, credit reports, and collateral to determine the creditworthiness of borrowers.Responsibilities:Evaluate complete loan documents and provide approval or denial decisions based on thorough analysis of borrower information, including income, assets, liabilities, and collateral.Review credit reports to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.Conduct detailed income calculations, including salaried, business, retired, and rental income, to accurately assess borrower's financial situation.Analyze collateral and property valuation to ensure accurate assessment of risk and value.Credit analysis based on borrower's 4C of underwriting: capacity, capital, collateral, and character.Validate and process loan documents on behalf of a mortgage lender organization, ensuring timely and accurate completion of loan transactions.Requirements:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including borrowers, lenders, and internal teams.Familiarity with US mortgage regulations and industry standards, with ability to stay up-to-date on changes and developments.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.Benefits:Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.A competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.A dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for career growth and advancement.
