As a Senior DevOps Engineer with 10+ years of experience, you will play a key role in shaping and optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, and infrastructure as code practices. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and security teams to drive automation, streamline workflows, and ensure efficient delivery of software solutions. You will mentor junior engineers, lead initiatives to improve system performance and availability, and contribute to the overall technical strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) for development, testing, and production environments.
- Lead the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment automation, ensuring code is delivered with minimal friction and maximum quality.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration management.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain system monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and implementation, ensuring business continuity with well-tested backup and recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement and manage security controls, vulnerability assessments, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior DevOps engineers, conducting code reviews and sharing best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert in cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps best practices, driving continuous improvement across teams.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, providing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps tools, technologies, and methodologies, and propose improvements based on industry trends.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps or a similar role, with a proven track record of implementing and managing complex systems.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and associated services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, etc.) and automation frameworks (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell) and programming languages (Java, Go, Ruby, etc.).
- Deep understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and performance optimization tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, etc.).
- Familiarity with security best practices, vulnerability scanning, and implementing secure cloud solutions.
- Experience with database management, backups, and high-availability solutions (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies, working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or similar.
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
- Familiarity with container registries, service meshes, and advanced networking configurations.
- Knowledge of continuous testing and monitoring practices within the CI/CD pipeline.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and associated tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
